Turkish people across the country observed a 1-minute of silence at 9.05am, the minute when Mustafa Kemal Ataturk passed away on 10 November 1938. Flags were lowered to half-mast during the commemoration ceremonies at locations such as Security Directorate on Vatan Street, Dolmabahce Palace, and the Bosphorus Bridge. Drivers were among a large number of participants, who stopped their vehicles engines in the middle of roads, and kept a minute of silence at 9.05am on Monday morning.Among the scenes was Anitkabir (Ataturks Monumental Tomb) in capital Ankara where F-16 fighter jets made a slow stunt flight to mark the 76th anniversary of the Turkish leaders death.
