The municipal official accompanied by the police arrived in Mustafa Kemal neighbourhood of Izmir provinces Buca district in western Turkey on Friday morning to demolish unlicensed 8 houses in the area, but they were resisted by the owners of the houses. An as-yet unnamed owner of one of the houses fired on the police with his pump rifle and left a superintendent and 4 officers wounded.Deputy Mayor of Buca
Göksel Bozkurt claimed that the owner of the houses had not been notified about the demolition and given enough time to evacuate their accommodations. The injured policemen were taken to nearby hospitals on ambulances, and reported to be in good conditions. An operation was launched for the capture of the individual who fired at the security forces, while the demolition eventually took place.
